Ric-Hard was not born into the glamour of Hollywood. Instead, he originally comes from a low-income family in Wyandotte County, Kansas. No one could have predicted this Kansas native would one day move to Hollywood and build a successful music career for himself. His early ambitions were to become a rap star like many up-and-coming rap stars in the 1990s.
Ric-Hard independently produced, distributed, and sold thousands of music CDs from the trunk of his car. He eventually attracted even more customers after acquiring customized vehicles covered in vinyl wraps with colorful graphics printed on them. The cars got attention when parked on any major intersection or street in the city. He sold thousands of CDs from the side doors of these vehicles.
His claim to fame in the music industry was making cameo appearances in some of the most famous music videos of all time. It allowed him to connect with top record labels like Cash Money, No Limit, and Strange Music. However, Ric-Hard’s biggest break came after his music was featured on the movie soundtrack of the hit 1995 action film “Die Hard With a Vengeance.”
One of his music connections in show business was with the legendary Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop Lion. Snoop Dogg personally invited Ric-Hard to perform with him live on the television show “So You think You Can Dance” Snoop Dogg – Pop Lock Interlude (Live at the Avalon) ft. Ric-Hard – in front of millions of fans worldwide. Snoop credited Ric-Hard for making pop locking famous again and even gave him a shoutout in one of his recent songs. This kind of exposure opened new doors for Ric-Hard in the entertainment industry.
Ric-Hard became more than a simple promotor and record label that makes shows available for his artists. He also shows them the process of recording, releasing, marketing, and selling a song or music record. The level of care and compassion he has for his artists makes him a household name on the streets of Los Angeles.
More recently, Ric-Hard’s big dream came true after he got to act, direct, write, and produce several Hollywood movies of his own, including “7th & Westlake,”7th & Westlake The Rerock – Trailer ” and “7th & Westlake: Ninos Revenge.” They are fast-paced, authentic urban dramas.
