Fans of Netflix’s The Four Seasons have a long wait ahead before the beloved comedy returns for a second run. The series premiered on May 1, 2025, and was quickly renewed for Season 2 just two weeks later, largely due to its impressive audience rating. A few months after the renewal, it was reported that filming on the new season would begin this fall, with your favorite group set to reprise their roles, save one star. In addition, we’ve recently learned when filming is scheduled to end and when fans can expect the show to return, though not with a precise date.
Filming on The Four Seasons Season 2 was said to have commenced on September 24, 2025, and to conclude on December 18, 2025. The upcoming season is also reportedly eyeing a May 2026 return, which is still a ways away, so in the meantime, fans can catch up on the juicy details of Season 1 on Netflix. Tina Fey, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Clavani, Erika Henningsen, Colman Domingo, Julia Lester, and Ashlyn Maddox will reprise their roles in the second season, while Steve Carell will supposedly not return following his character’s death in Season 1.
The Four Seasons, which debuted as a limited series, was co-created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracy Wigfield. It is an adaptation of the 1981 movie of the same name, which starred, was written by, and directed by Alan Alda. In the recent version, the dynamics of a group of six friends who regularly vacation together are thrown into chaos when Nick (Carell) divorces his wife of 25 years, Anne (Kenney-Silver), and soon finds a much younger woman, Ginny (Henningsen), who joins him on subsequent trips.
There’s More Drama Ahead in ‘The Four Seasons’ Season 2
Co-creator Wigfield once shared her thoughts on “the possibility of a second season” of the Netflix dramedy, which, according to her, would feature “the same group of friends.” The EP also mentioned what’s in store for Ginny: “We’d want Ginny to really be tied in there because she and Anne are going to have children who are siblings. And it just gives us a lot to play with in their relationship.” Fans of The Four Seasons would recall that Ginny became pregnant with Nick’s child in Season 1, which she never got to tell Nick. And while she may not be a “member” of the friendship group, her pregnancy will play a significant role in her relationship with them, as having Nick’s child implies that she will certainly be in their lives for a long time.
The Four Seasons Season 2 debuts in 2026. Stay tuned to Collider for further updates.
