This year has been one of the most memorable for Apple TV, particularly in the sci-fi scene. New seasons of the best sci-fi shows came about, which were not disappointing in the least, and even an all-new series, Murderbot, debuted, which has since been renewed — no surprise there! That’s not all! Apple TV had one more sci-fi project scheduled for release later this year, which premiered only a week ago and has already become among the streamer’s best yet. That show is none other than Pluribus, a well-deserved critics’ favorite as well as a global chart-topper.

Following its double-episode premiere on November 7, 2025, Pluribus rose to the top of streaming charts both in the US and international territories. The sci-fi masterpiece maintained its leading spot until this week, when another Apple TV gem, The Morning Show, quietly dethroned it. On November 13, 2025, the toxic workplace drama became the #1 most-watched show on the streamer worldwide, with Pluribus coming in second. However, as fans may have anticipated, that didn’t last long as the Rhea Seehorn-led show is back on top as of today following Episode 3, “Grenade,” which streams once more in a few hours.

Created by TV veteran Vince Gilligan, Pluribus is a post-apocalyptic drama set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that sees Seehorn portray beloved fantasy author Carol Sturka. When humanity is suddenly joined into a hive mind, Carol and a few others are found to be immune; however, the hive mind seeks to assimilate them amicably —Carol is totally against that, by the way. The first season will have nine episodes, with the finale expected to air on December 26, 2025.

Apple TV’s ‘Pluribus’ Is A Must-Watch!

Everyone loves Pluribus, even with only three episodes in. Critics have praised the sci-fi thriller for its originality, among other things, including Gilligan’s writing and direction and Seehorn’s performance. On Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts an astounding Certified Fresh 100% score based on 86 critics’ reviews, with the consensus stating, “Genuinely original science-fiction fare from television veteran Vince Gilligan, Pluribus leads Rhea Seehorn through a brave new world with plentiful returns.” Similarly, in Collider’s review, Carly Lane praises Gilligan for creating such an extraordinary “masterpiece” that feels “right at home in the Apple TV library but also delivers a series that manages to be equal parts unnerving, hilarious, heartbreaking, and always unexpected.”

Pluribus is streaming on Apple TV. Stay tuned to Collider for more information.
