Ohio State is set to face USC in a prime-time matchup on Oct. 31.

The Buckeyes are 6-1 and will play with a new starting quarterback after Julian Sayin was ruled out indefinitely by coach Ryan Day. Sayin left the fourth quarter of the OSU-Indiana game with an injury and returned to the sideline in a sling.

Joey Kaufman, Columbus Dispatch: This might be the toughest remaining game on the Buckeyes’ regular-season schedule between the cross-country travel and quarterback uncertainty. Not only will Ohio State have a first-time starter behind center, but USC’s Jayden Maiava might be the best quarterback left healthy in the Big Ten. But the Buckeyes should be able to manage as their defense continues to make midseason strides, especially up front. There are enough pieces around Luke Fahey and Tavien St. Clair to account for the loss of Julian Sayin at least this week.
