Since we are in the midst of Floor vs. Ceiling Week here at Land-Grant Holy Land, this week’s fan survey dives into what the floor could be for the Buckeyes in terms of their win-loss record this fall. Obviously, the ceiling is going 12-0, and there ain’t no way they will be sub-.500, so we want to know where in between they will land.

Question: What is the floor for Ohio State’s regular-season win total?
As has been discussed ad nauseam this offseason, the Buckeyes’ regular season schedule is as tough as it has been in recent memory, having to face the likes of Texas, Iowa, Indiana, USC, Oregon, and Michigan, with sneaky potential trap games against Illinois, Maryland, and Nebraska thrown in as well.
It’s been 14 years since the Buckeyes lost more than two regular-season games, and that was in the ill-fated Luke Fickell interim year, so that almost doesn’t even count. So, personally, I find it hard to believe that Ryan Day’s Buckeyes will drop more than two regular-season games this season, and even that is a tough pill to swallow.

However, based on the schedule alone, that certainly feels more possible than it has since the days of Jim Tressel. I also feel like the second season of Julian Sayin under center will represent a marked improvement in his already efficient play, and throw in Jeremiah Smith’s final season of college football and two former NFL head coaches as coordinators, and I don’t think that we are going to see much — if any — of a step back from the Scarlet and Gray this season.
