As injuries continue to ravage the Washington Huskies‘ offense, with starting wide receivers Christian Moss out for 2-3 months and Rashid Williams week-to-week with an oblique issue, it’s hard not to take a look down the road at what Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff is building on the recruiting trail.

Fisch and position coach Kevin Cummings have secured commitments from four wide receivers (three of which are four-star prospects) in the 2027 class, headlined by four-star Tre Moore out of Pflugerville Weiss High School in Texas. Ranked as the No. 163 overall prospect and No. 24 wide receiver in the class by the 247Sports Composite, after choosing the Huskies over Miami and Ohio State, Moore has all the makings of a day-one difference-maker, which is exactly what Washington views him as.

First, he looks the part. Moore, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, took an unofficial visit to Seattle for the Apple Cup and appears to be well north of both of those measurements, as he towered over several other recruits, giving Fisch the prototypical size he looks for from an X receiver, after Denzel Boston starred in the role for two years on Montlake.

Moore uses his size and strength well on film. He excels in contested catch situations, consistently rising over and outmuscling defenders downfield for big gains. During his junior year, he posted 85 catches for 1,443 yards and 19 touchdowns, and showed off an impressive skill set that could help him see the field quickly at the college level.

The big-bodied prospect also has the necessary speed to stretch the field and the ability to shake tacklers and make plays with the ball in his hands. As the Huskies look to continue to build out their arsenal of pass catchers, Moore’s physicality and athleticism look college-ready at this point in his high school career, a big reason why he compiled 43 offers and was hotly pursued by most of the nation’s elite programs.

Combined with fellow four-star prospects Braylon Pope and Dontay Tyson, and three-star Zerek Sidney, Moore is set to lead a further infusion of talent at wide receiver and could bring more stability right away to a promising group.
