Par for the course?

The Today show’s Dylan Dreyer is apologizing after an on-air accident occurred on the 3rd Hour of Today on Monday, Nov. 17.

The 44-year-old meteorologist and golf enthusiast was golfing on camera as a part of a profile on the Dufferettes of New Jersey golf club.

While squaring up for a shot, Dreyer said, “My balls have been known to go in weird directions,” as the voiceover added, “Like right into my camera man.”

As Dreyer hit the ball, a loud “Ow!” cry is audible in the background. The mother of three grabbed her head with her eyes widening in shock as she rushed toward her camera man to check on him.

“Good job, Dylan,” the man said wryly, laughing off the accident.

“Are you okay?!” Dreyer asked. “I am so sorry.”

Noting that the camera man was, in fact, okay after the incident, he was seen continuing to film even after his injury.

Craig Melvin later noted that Dreyer’s victim was a longtime NBC photographer named Kellan.

“That sounded like that hurt!” co-host Sheinelle Jones said of the shot.

“Luckily, he already had his children,” Al Roker quipped as Dreyer clarified, “Well, I hit his ankle, so he was fine either way.”

Dreyer was shocked that the ball managed to hit her camera man when he wasn’t in front of her at the time.

“There is no physical way for the ball to go that way,” she insisted to her co-hosts. “I thought for sure he was safe, like, it went backwards!”

Dreyer is an avid golfer, who is often candid about her talent level on the course. She often jokes with her co-hosts about placing in the bottom of celebrity golf tournaments like the American Century Championship.
