NFL teams are beginning to report to training camp, and the Pittsburgh Steelers saw their Mason Rudolph trade window begin to close following a major Arizona Cardinals shakeup.
One of the Cardinals’ biggest offseason storylines, which played into Rudolph trade speculation, began to come to a resolution as Jacoby Brissett reported to training camp despite his unresolved contract dispute with the team.
Brissett, who appeared to take a big step towards ending his contract dilemma with Arizona, was expected to be the Cardinals’ starting quarterback in 2026. Behind him on the depth chart are veteran Gardner Minshew and rookie Carson Beck. If Brissett is committed to playing under his current deal, Arizona goes from a perfect fit for Rudolph to a near-impossible landing spot.

Still, the Steelers have a few other potential trade suitors for Rudolph if Arizona is off the table, as the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets could be in the market for a more capable backup quarterback.
Trade speculation isn’t the only reason why Rudolph has found himself in the headlines recently, as Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger also called on the team to part ways with him in favor of Drew Allar and Will Howard.
