About the Series: Shelby’s Wrestling Corner discusses wrestlers in AEW and WWE who made an impact over the last week. Whether it be a cool move that made the crowd gasp or a promo that stuck with fans days later, this is a place to celebrate professional wrestling. This week, we will be looking at performances from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1, 2026.
Almost every wrestler has their ups and downs. It is only natural that when you are performing week in and week out, some matches and promos are better than others, but I say almost for a reason, and that is because this week’s Wrestler of the Week, Will Ospreay, very rarely has a down week.

I first saw Ospreay at Revolution in 2024. Since then, I have been hooked, and I’m sure many others feel the same way.

His defeating Jon Moxley at All Out felt like a given, but the two men still put on a performance fans could enjoy. His Wednesday win against Ricochet was also entertaining and a great way to honor Pac.
Ospreay is simple on another level right now as AEW World Champion and I hope he stays there for a long time. He is insanely talented in the ring and relatable on the mic. He has already beaten Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley, two top players in AEW, so I am excited to see who steps up to be his next singles challenger.

I would be remiss if I didn’t talk a little bit more about Pac, the AEW wrestler who died this week, just hours after competing at All Out. Losing someone fans have enjoyed for years is always hard, especially when the athlete is still young and active. As fans, it is easy to see these stars who put their bodies on the line every week as larger-than-life characters, which is why the loss of one impacts so many who may have never even met Pac in person.
The tribute show by AEW on Wednesday was beautiful and I applaud all the athletes who went out and performed in memory of Pac.
