Roma continues to work on several fronts to strengthen their attack, and during discussions with Chelsea, Diego Moreira’s name has emerged.
The Strasbourg winger is a prospect the Giallorossi management likes and is closely monitoring, although the deal appears far from straightforward.

As reported by Il Messaggero, Roma has discussed the player with Chelsea for a specific reason: the London club holds a right of first refusal on the player.
The link between the Blues and Strasbourg is direct, considering the two clubs are owned by the same club.
This makes constant contact with the English club necessary to understand any room for maneuver and the possibility of participating in the negotiations.
At the moment, however, the Stamford Bridge club is reportedly focused primarily on other prospects for that position, particularly Rayo Vallecano’s Chavarria.
This situation could theoretically leave Roma with a glimmer of hope, as they are closely monitoring the situation. Negotiations for Moreira are also complicated financially.

Strasbourg value the Belgian winger at around €40 million, a high figure already expected to rise further based on the player’s performances in international competitions. In particular, his performances at the World Cup could increase his price tag, making the deal even more costly.
Despite the difficulties, Roma has not completely ruled out this option.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico is ready to send a written offer to the French club and, in the meantime, continues to monitor various prospects to complete the squad and satisfy Gian Piero Gasperini’s demands.
