MORRISTOWN — No. 3 seed Ridgewood claimed the North Group 4 sectional title on June 9, and and now heads to the Group 4 state final on June 13 at The College of New Jersey.

The Maroons went on the road and took out top-seeded Morristown, 8-7, in overtime to win their second sectional title in four years, last winning in 2023.

Ridgewood senior Katie Adams won the game for the Maroons with a close-range snipe with a minute left in the extra period, sending Ridgewood to the state final.The first half saw the majority of the scoring. Morristown took a 2-0 lead within the first minute, then took a 4-2 lead after one quarter. But Ridgewood stormed back to take a 5-4 lead into halftime, courtesy of three goals from sophomore Delaney McCrone, who finished the game with four scores.

Though Morristown was held off the board for more than 30 minutes from the end of the first quarter to midway through the fourth, the Colonials tied the game 6-6, then 7-7 to force overtime.
