Joshua Allen was laid to rest in Texas on Saturday, Nov. 8, but his funeral was a contentious one.
The So You Think You Can Dance star died on Sept. 30, a representative of his confirmed to PEOPLE at the time. His family later revealed that Allen was fatally struck by a train. He was taken to the hospital but later died there. He was 36.
On Nov. 8, a funeral was held for Allen, and the Fort Worth Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that police were called two separate times related to reports of an alleged unwelcome guest at the service.
Per a police spokesperson, the first call to police was made about a “disturbance where a person was on scene that certain parties did not want on scene” but “other parties …did not have issue with the person” being at the funeral.
“Officers advised all parties to keep the peace at this setting,” the spokesperson told PEOPLE.

A second call to police was made over an hour later by a third-party caller “who was not on scene but was calling on behalf of someone on scene” and said the same thing as the person who called before.
Police then arrived on the scene of the funeral and “stationed themselves inside” until the funeral ended.
Police did share that one person was “transported to a local hospital” from the funeral but was “cleared upon… arrival.” The spokesperson had “no details as to what the medical call was in reference to” and noted that “no arrests or citations were issued by any officers” responding to the 911 calls.

TMZ was the first to report the news and got a statement from Allen’s father, Eddie, who said that the person the 911 calls were about was Joshua’s girlfriend.
Eddie claimed that while the girlfriend was trying to say goodbye to Joshua’s body — it was an open-casket funeral — members of the dancer’s mother’s family allegedly “assaulted her.”

Eddie said his son’s girlfriend “came in peace” and “showed nothing but grace, patience and love” at the funeral, which she had allegedly received “direct permission” from Joshua’s mother to attend.
In a social media post, footage allegedly taken at the funeral showed a woman leaning down close to Joshua’s casket, at which point several people stood up and approached her to get her away from his body.
The footage also showed police arriving on the scene.
