Missouri football defensive end Darris Smith had to be helped off the field during the first quarter of the Tigers‘ game against Tory on Saturday evening in Columbia.

During a play that the Mizzou defensive front forced a fumble from Troy QB Goose Crowder, Smith seemed to get caught at the bottom of a pile. The Trojans fell on the loose football to retain possession.

Smith went into the injury tent with the Tigers trailing 7-0 with 3:18 left in the first quarter.

Shortly afterward, the Tribune spotted Smith being helped to the Missouri locker room. He had a noticeable limp while two teams trainers aided him to the tunnel in the south end zone of Memorial Stadium.

There is no further update on Smith’s status at this time. The Tribune will provide more information when it becomes available.
