Lil Wayne Contacted For Possible Kendrick Superbowl Replacement
As the Drake legal battle is heating up, it’s looking more and more likely that Kendrick Lamar will be replaced as the Superbowl Halftime artist. And Lil Wayne is the logical replacement.Drake’s blockbuster lawsuit against his record label Universal Music Group – and they dropped another bombshell. According to folks close to Drake, the National Football League has reached out to Lil Wayne’s team, to start talks bout Weezy possibly replacing Kendrick as the halftime show in the upcoming Superbowl.
If true, it would be a crushing blow to Kendrick, who planned to use the Superbowl to launch his music career into the stratosphere.
We’re told that no official decision to replace Kendrick has been made yet. But ever since Drake’s high powered lawyers sent a cease and desist to the NFL, warning them not to allow Kendrick to defame him during the halftime show, the NFL has been scrambling to figure a way out.
We also spoke with someone at the National Football League, who confirmed that the legal team there is in utter chaos.
They confirmed that the NFL has been looking at “contingency plans” in the event that Kendrick will have to be replaced from halftime show, in light of Drake’s new lawsuit. But our NFL insider would not confirm whether Lil Wayne, or any other artist, would be Kendrick’s replacement.
