Leeds United are interested in bringing Royal Union Saint-Gilloise goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen to Elland Road, according to Sky Sports journalist Ben Heckner. Leeds manager Daniel Farke wants a goalie after Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow left the West Yorkshire club, and the Whites have identified Scherpen as a target. The 6ft 9in giant is also on the radar of Ipswich Town, and a return to the Premier League could be on the cards for the former Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper.

Scherpen has impressed in the Belgian Pro League, winning the Belgian Cup last term, and Leeds have been impressed by the performances of the 26-year-old. Union SG are already preparing for life without the Dutchman as Arminia Bielefeld goalie Jonas Kersken is being targeted as his potential replacement.
