His extension is worth $75 for the next three seasons, while also adding other unique details like a 15% trade kicker and a mutual option between him and the team that opens the door for a reworked agreement two years from now.

Isaiah Hartenstein can enjoy a long-term stay with the Thunder

Hartenstein has bounced around the league quite a bit, but it seems he has found a home with the Thunder. He has been a spectacular addition to this team since the 2024 offseason because they have a championship under their belt already.

At the same time, they know that they failed in the 2025-26 championship defense. Hartenstein did his best in the 2026 Playoffs, but Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs ended up overwhelming him and the Thunder.

With this new deal, it seems Hartenstein himself is ecstatic about staying with the Thunder. This makes the center situation quite interesting, though, because they have him, Chet Holmgren, Aday Mara, Thomas Sorber, and Jaylin Williams on the roster.

While it is always good to keep having reliable size on the roster, the Thunder might need to move on from one of those players, and many thought it was Hartenstein.

Now that his future is clear with the Thunder, it seems Hartenstein is pleased to see himself staying with a title contender.
