The Dallas Cowboys‘ defense still has plenty of questions to answer, and defensive coordinator Christian Parker is hoping training camp will help provide them.
Two areas Parker needs to address quickly are the same ones that plagued the Cowboys last season: a lack of turnovers and sacks. If this defense wants to change its outlook, Parker must find ways to put his players in position to make plays on the ball while also generating more pressure up front. The two issues go hand in hand and could be Parker’s biggest challenge when camp opens.

Fortunately, Parker has plenty of young talent on defense to work with. The same can’t be said for the Cowboys’ roster as a whole after a look at ESPN’s under-25 talent rankings. Dallas ranked 17th a year ago but has fallen to 24th entering the 2026 season. Hopefully, the team’s blend of youth and veteran talent is enough to compete this year, while the front office continues to add young pieces through roster cutdowns and future drafts.
