Harry Kane: Barcelona rumours refuse to go away

Barcelona are reportedly looking to bolster their forward department, and have been heavily linked with a move for Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez.

The Catalan giants are looking to replace Robert Lewandowski, and they have long considered Harry Kane as a potential option.

The Bild journalist said: “It is TRUE: Harry Kane’s representatives were contacted by Barcelona. This was confirmed to me. But I also heard that Barcelona has no chance of snatching Kane from Bayern Munich.

“He wants to stay in Munich and sign a new contract. However, he doesn’t want to do that right this moment while he’s still competing in the World Cup with the English national team. Regardless, Kane just wants to negotiate with Bayern Munich, and I think they’ll find a solution.”

Bayern Munich set to find solutions for Harry Kane

Kane has stated his desire to continue his Bayern beyond the end of his contract, and the German giants also want him to stay.

The 32-year-old striker scored 61 goals and seven assists across all competitions for Bayern in 2025-26 campaign, and took his overall goal tally to 146 for the club.

Kane redefined himself by dropping deep and acting as a playmaker at time in the absence of Jamal Musiala, and Bayern believe his goal scoring ability will not dry up any time soon.

Bayern want to negotiate a deal with Harry Kane and they are willing to find a solution after the World Cup. Barcelona simply have ‘no chance’ of signing Kane this summer.
