The FSU Seminoles have lost another reserve to the transfer portal. Catcher Mookie Rodriguez has entered the portal after one season in Tallahassee, according to the D1Baseball tracker.

Rodriguez was a member of FSU’s 2025 recruiting class and did not see any action in his one season in Tallahassee. The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder is from Dover, Florida, and will have four seasons of eligibility at his next stop after redshirting in 2026.

He is the ninth player that FSU has lost to the transfer portal this season and the first catcher. Their freshman class has now seen four departures, including Kelvyn Paulino Jr., their top signee.

Rodriguez had a strong senior season at Lakeland High School before coming to FSU. He hit .394 in 33 games with five home runs, four doubles, and 29 RBI. He walked 24 times and struck out 17 times, finishing with a .531 on-base percentage and a .586 slugging percentage.

While losing Rodriguez so quickly after signing him is not ideal, the Seminoles appear set at catcher in the 2026 season. FSU signed JUCO All-American Coy Clements, who hit 24 home runs last season as he helped lead Pearl River Community College to a national championship.
