Has England ever won the World Cup?

England takes pride in being the birthplace of soccer, beating Germany to win the 1966 World Cup. But that is the last time the men’s team has even appeared in the final, falling short in the semifinals in 2026 and 2018. They’ve also been the runners-up in the past two European championships in 2024 and 2021. The nation has had more success on the women’s side, winning back-to-back Euros in 2022 and 2025, but they too have not won the World Cup, finishing second to Spain in 2023.
