Zach Ertz is officially back in Midnight Green. The Philadelphia Eagles signed the 35-year-old veteran tight end to their practice squad Monday, according to multiple reports, bringing the Super Bowl LII hero home after starting tight end Dallas Goedert suffered a sprained MCL in Sunday’s 24-20 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman needed immediate help.

He needs just 11 more receptions to pass Hall of Fame receiver Harold Carmichael’s record of 589 and become the Eagles’ all-time leader in catches.

Ertz spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the division-rival Washington Commanders. He posted 50 receptions for 504 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games last season before a late knee injury ended his year.
