Lazio left-back Luca Pellegrini is expected to leave his beloved club this summer, and his next destination could be Deportivo La Coruña.
Luca Pellegrini Destined to Leave Lazio This Summer
The 27-year-old began his career at Roma’s academy, but is a self-proclaimed Lazio supporter. In January 2023, he realized his dream by joining the Biancocelesti, initially on loan from Juventus. The Italian had his highs and lows over the past three and a half years, and a summer departure appears inevitable.

Pellegrini is now considered Lazio’s third choice at left-back following Alfonso Pedraza’s arrival. The Spaniard is expected to fight Nuno Tavares for a starting role, leaving the Roman as the odd man out, especially in the absence of European football.
Deportivo La Coruña Joins the Race for Pellegrini
In recent weeks, Pellegrini was linked with a move to England, particularly newly promoted Premier League club Hull City. But according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Lazio player is wanted at Deportivo, who have also placed Lyon veteran Nicolas Tagliafico on their left-back shortlist.
The Spanish club has recently returned to the Spanish top flight. Curiously, they have already crossed paths with Lazio this summer, pipping them for Jonathan Asp Jensen’s signature, after reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich, whereas the Aquile had agreed terms with the attacking midfielder, but couldn’t close the deal with the Bavarian giants.

Pellegrini Running on an Expiring Contract
With his contract expiring in June 2027, Pellegrini is unlikely to generate a considerable transfer fee, but the Biancocelesti would at least chop his salary off the wage bill. Capolgy estimates his yearly gross salary at €2.4 million.
