Demi Moore and Emma Heming Willis have once again joined forces in support of legendary actor Bruce Willis, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia back in 2023. On Wednesday, November 5, the two women (who are his ex-wife and current wife, respectively) made a joint appearance at a Soho Sessions benefit concert for Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, a non-profit dedicated to supporting people like Bruce.

Moore and Heming Willis were joined by plenty of celebrities, including Keith Richards, Norah Jones, Mavis Staples, and Warren Haynes, all of whom performed during the concert. Actors Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Michael J. Fox, Tracy Pollan, and Whoopi Goldberg were also in attendance.

“Bruce would have loved this,” Heming Willis told People in an exclusive interview. “He always loved live music. I think that he would’ve definitely got up there and started playing his harmonica.”

His wife went on, “I’m just grateful that they would show up for this. But they also have their special relationship with Bruce.”

Heming Willis has been an important advocate for people with frontotemporal dementia and their caregivers since announcing her husband’s diagnosis. Earlier this year, she reflected on how the disease has impacted her marriage in an interview with Vanity Fair.

“What was our love story? How did we fall in love?” Heming Willis mused. “It is so hard right now for me to tap into that time of our life, because I’m so wrapped up in what today is and what it looks like.”

She continued, “I hear that from a lot of caregivers too—that it’s hard for them to remember. I’m so happy I’m able to talk to other caregivers now, to know that I’m not crazy, that that is a normal thing.”

On Wednesday, Heming Willis again reflected on the family’s new reality, this time emphasizing the breadth of “support out there” in the face of so much uncertainty and grief.

“I know that when we received our diagnosis, we were left with nothing, really; no roadmap, no support, nothing,” the mom-of-two said. And though “caregivers are really unsupported and unseen,” she added, “What I realized is that there actually is support there.”
