DETROIT – One more preseason game and the Red Wings skate into the regular season.
They’ll take another outcome like Thursday’s, on September 24.
Alex DeBrincat‘s power play goal at 33 seconds of overtime gave the WIngs a 3-2 victory over Buffalo. DeBrincat one-timed a pass from Lucas Raymond, giving the Wings their second victory in three preseason games (2-0-1).

The Wings end the preseason Saturday, hosting Columbus (7 p.m./DSN/97.1).
Wings forward Sheldon Dries redirected Jacob Bryson‘s shot from the point past goaltender Colten Ellis, tying the game 2-2 at 7:13 of the third period.
Axel Sandin-Pellikka (power play) opened the Wings’ scoring.
Sandin-Pellikka one-timed a pass from Anton Johansson – both young defensemen have impressed in the preseason while battling for likely available roster spots – at 16:11 of the first period for Sandin-Pellikka’s second goal of the preseason (and Johansson’s fifth assist).
Trevor Kuntar and Jiri Kulich had Buffalo goals.

Kulich broke a 1-1 tie at 33 seconds of the second period. Kulich broke in on a two-on-one rush, kept the puck, and whistled a shot that dribbled through goaltender Daniil Tarasov.
Alex Lyon, Buffalo’s starting goaltender and a former Wing, left the game late in the first period with an apparent left shoulder injury.
