The second-fastest qualifier, Caden Dudney, grabbed the holeshot with Davies in second. Dudney, 16, completed the first lap with the lead, which was his first laps led in the series.
He went on to lead the next 11 after fighting off a fierce battle from Davies on Laps 4 and 5.

Davies caught Dudney on Lap 4 and the two teammates battled side-by-side for most of the next two laps. Davies poked his front wheel ahead a few times, but the teenager fought back and never relinquished the lead at the finish line.

Cole Davies tops RedBud 250 Qualification over Caden Dudney
Cole Davies is closing the gap on the points leaders after winning the last round at High Point.

At the end of Lap 1, the top five were Dudney, Davies (2.724 seconds back), Nick Romano, Casey Cochran, and Levi Kitchen.
Jo Shimoda was a distant eighth, but he stayed calm and moved into a podium position with four minutes remaining.
Shimoda’s pass for position cost Casey Cochran a shot at the box. He would eventually get passed by Kitchen as well
The track was showing dust in places, but it was deeply rutted and soft in others. That cost Julien Beaumer, who entered the race third in points. He buried his front tire and then literally got stuck in a rut.
