Fresh off hearing their names called in the 2026 NBA draft, Milwaukee Bucks rookies Brayden Burries and Nate Ament received a warm welcome to town by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch for the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday.
Burries and Ament took the mound in custom-made Brewers “City Connect” jerseys, with their names and the No. 26 featured on the back, referencing their draft year. The two delivered their pitches, with Burries marveling at Ament’s strike afterward.

The two players were treated to a 6-2 win by the hometown team, behind another dominant performance by starter Jacob Misiorowski, who allowed one run and struck out eight in six innings of work. The Brewers became the second team to reach 50 wins this season.
Burries was the 10th overall pick on Tuesday after averaging 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 39 games last season at Arizona. He was a first-team All-Big 12 selection, helping the Wildcats to the Final Four for the first time since 2001.
Ament, taken three spots later with the pick acquired in the trade involving Giannis Antetokounmpo, was selected to the All-SEC second team at Tennessee, averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and one steal. He ranked 14th in the country in free throws with 196.

Burries and Ament arrive in Milwaukee, expected to help usher in a new era following the departure of Antetokounmpo. If their reception at American Family Field was any indication, they will be welcomed with open arms next season.
