- As she promotes the forthcoming Wicked: For Good, Ariana Grande appeared on the French talk show Le Quotidien on November 6.
- Her appearance came one week after she debuted her return-to-brunette hair after three years as a blonde for her role as Glinda on October 29.
- Thursday’s appearance—with her brunette hair worn down and not in her signature ponytail—marked her back-to-brunette TV debut.
When one thinks of Ariana Grande’s hair, her signature ponytail comes to mind, as does—lately anyway, as Grande has been in her Wicked era—her Glinda-esque blonde hair.

Both her ponytail and her blonde hair were absent during a November 6 appearance on the French talk show Le Quotidien, where Grande sat beside her Wicked: For Good co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey with her new brunette hair down and draped over her shoulders, per E! News.

The appearance comes one week after Grande debuted her return to brunette on her Instagram on October 29, standing in front of a mirror in the first shot of her as a brunette again after three years as a blonde for her roles in 2024’s Wicked and 2025’s Wicked: For Good, which hits theaters on November 21. Nodding to one of Glinda’s lines in the movie, she captioned her Instagram mirror selfie, “it’s good to see me, isn’t it?🫧”
On Le Quotidien, Grande and Erivo spoke about getting multiple matching tattoos to honor their time together on the franchise, including one on the palms of their hands. “Well, we each got the ‘For Goods,’” Grande said on the show. “We have one that we can’t show. Well, we have two we can’t show.”
Though their time together on Wicked is ending, “We’re thankfully stuck with each other for the rest of our lives,” Grande said on Thursday. “These characters have had such a beautiful impact on all of us, on our lives. But the most impactful thing has been being able to create these movies with people that we love so much and artists we respect so much.”
“Being able to do that has been such an honor and a once-in-a-lifetime [experience],” Grande continued. “So, no. No one is leaving each other,” to which Erivo replied, “We’re not leaving each other.”

Speaking to The New York Times, Grande said of her role as Glinda, “I don’t know that the projects I have acted in before required the range or the skill set that this one did. I was on children’s television and then swept away by pop music for a long time, then I landed this extraordinary role and I wanted to earn it.”
Grande’s press tour for Wicked: For Good continues, and her stylist Law Roach told People of working with Grande, “What people need to know about her is her gratitude and appreciation, one to be playing, you know, this role, but also, she’s so excited and grateful to the designers who are making these gowns and dresses for her.”

“Oh baby, there’s a mood board,” he added of her press run looks. “There are hours and hours of fitting and laughing and swearing. It’s just a lot of daydreaming and imagination.” He added, “It’s just like coming back home, like two good friends reunited, and get to play in clothes—and a lot of clothes—which is so fun.”
Of her back-to-brunette hair specifically, that is courtesy of Grande’s colorist Francesco De Chiara, who also took Grande blonde back in 2022. Calling Grande’s new shade “rich coffee mocha,” De Chiara told Vogue, “We wanted a change and a new vibe for the Wicked: For Good press tour,” noting that he has been working on Grande going back to brunette for months. “Going from blonde to brunette can be a journey,” he said.
