Things are both heating up and cooling down over here at Collider today, thanks to a brand-new look at the upcoming action-packed thriller, Icefall. As part of our ongoing Collider Exclusive Preview event, we’re excited to pair with the team behind AURA Entertainment’s latest release and showcase a still that captures the project’s two primary characters. Now available on demand, the movie sees The Suicide Squad and The Silent Hour alum, Joel Kinnaman, lace up his boots and charge full steam ahead back into the world of fast-paced action. Helmed by Stefan Ruzowitzky (All the Queen’s Men), the movie will allow you to tag along on a money grab gone horribly wrong and enter the frozen tundra, all while snuggled under a warm blanket with your favorite hot beverage just an arm’s reach away.
Standing side-by-side, the characters played by Kinnaman and Cara Jade Myers (Killers of the Flower Moon) look off-screen at something that’s caught their mutual attention. Behind them, mountains rise far off beyond the horizon, while they stand on a patch of ice that has frozen solid below their feet. Decked out in hefty layers of winter gear, the movie’s main characters appear hesitant but ready to face whatever their foes might throw their way next.
After the sudden loss of the love of his life, Kinnaman’s character finds himself living in the frozen tundra in the middle of nowhere. One day, when he’s fishing below the ice, he happens upon a suitcase overflowing with cash. He reports his findings to a young Native American game warden (Myers) after she questions him about poaching, but both parties have no idea just how much trouble they’ve inadvertently fallen into. With millions missing from their holdings, a group of criminals is hot on the trail of the lost money and will do anything in their power to bring their haul home safely.
Who Else Stars In ‘Icefall’?
Although the storyline might be driven by Myers and Kinnaman’s characters, there are plenty of ensemble performers who pull Icefall together and turn the movie’s already dramatic undertones into something incredibly high-stakes. Filling out the rest of the call sheet are names including Bashar Rahal (Reunion), Jaymes Butler (The Boys in the Boat), Danny Huston (The Naked Gun), Martin Sensmeier (The Magnificent Seven), Graham Greene (Dances with Wolves), DeVaughn Nixon (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty), Oliver Trevena (The Paradox Effect) and more.
See Kinnaman and Myers try to stay warm in our exclusive new look at Icefall above, and welcome the movie into your home now on video on demand. Stay tuned for more inside looks at the hottest movies and TV shows coming this winter in Collider’s Exclusive Preview event.
