The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.

Here is quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
Jacoby Brissett background, 2025 season
Brissett enters his 11th NFL season and second with the Cardinals. He signed a two-year deal in free agency in 2025 to be the Cardinals’ backup quarterback but ended up starting 12 games after Kyler Murray suffered a foot injury that ultimately ended his season.
Brissett set career highs with 3,366 passing yards and 23 touchdown passes, but the Cardinals were 1-11 in his starts and lost their final nine games, including six by three or more scores.
Jacoby Brissett 2025 contract details, cap hit
Brissett is actually in the middle of a contract dispute this offseason. He is scheduled to make less than $4.9 million in salary and up to $510,000 in per-game roster bonuses. His scheduled cap hit is almost $9.2 million.

He has only $1.5 million in guaranteed salary in 2026.
Questions he faces
The biggest question is whether his holdout will continue into training camp. Will he play under his current deal, or will the Cardinals come to terms with him?
Can he play at the same level he did as a starter last season, putting up volume passing numbers?
Ultimately, how many games will he start before the Cardinals decide to turn to Gardner Minshew or rookie Carson Beck.
2026 roster outlook
Brissett is slated to be the Cardinals’ starting quarterback, so he seems to be a lock for the roster, but his contract dispute adds just a bit of doubt. Would they cut or trade him if they can’t get him to agree to a new deal or to participate in camp?
