1 stat to know for each Chargers 2025 NFL draft pick

The Chargers bolstered their roster with players on both sides of the football with their nine selections in the 2025 NFL draft, each offering plenty of talent in their respective ways.

Using Pro Football Focus’ grades, here is one notable stat to know about Los Angeles’ draft class.

RB Omarion Hampton

90.2 rush grade

Hampton was tied for the sixth-best PFF rush grade among running backs with at least 200 carries. His 1,660 rushing yards were the third-most in the FBS. Hampton broke multiple school records during his three years with the Tar Heels.

WR Tre Harris

95.0 receiving grade against man coverage

Harris was No. 1 in this category, consistently showing a good release package to work off the line of scrimmage and the long speed to make himself open down the field.

DL Jamaree Caldwell

25 total pressures in 2024

The Chargers drafted Caldwell to replace Poona Ford. While he will be relegated to run defense duties for the most part, he has shown flashes of being a solid interior pass rusher, finishing with 25 quarterback pressures last season.

EDGE Kyle Kennard

11.5 sacks in 2024

The Chargers needed some more pass-rush juice off the edge to go along with Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu, and they added Kennard, who went up against elite offensive tackles, including No. 4 overall pick Will Campbell en route to leading the SEC in sacks.

WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith

19.6 yards per catch

The Chargers continued giving Justin Herbert weapons with the selection of Lambert-Smith, a big play waiting to happen. Lambert-Smith, the explosive playmaker, amassed 19.6 yards per catch, which ranked in the top 10 nationally and third among SEC receivers.

TE Oronde Gadsden II

73 receptions

The Chargers needed to round out the tight end group with a pass-catching type, which Gadsden brings. The wide receiver convert totaled 73 receptions, a single-season school record for a tight end. He turned those catches into 934 yards and seven touchdowns.

OL Branson Taylor

76.4 pass-blocking grade

The Chargers addressed the offensive line with the hulking 6-foot-6, 330-pound Taylor. Taylor should offer depth and versatility at tackle and guard. Taylor was among the top 10 ACC tackles in pass blocking grade.

S RJ Mickens

89.8 coverage grade

The Chargers got great value with the selection of Mickens in the sixth round. His coverage grade was No. 1 among ACC safeties and was tied for the fourth-best in the nation among safeties with at least 500 snaps.
