I felt as though I was watching Alex Scott take his game to yet another level in Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw with Everton.
The technical excellence has always been there, but now he is beginning to dictate games.

Scott uses his body so well, and demands the ball even in tight areas of the pitch. It’s his awareness that is making him stand out right now and we haven’t even delved into his extensive passing range, or indeed his superbly taken goal against Everton.
Scott has recently turned 23. In midfielder terms, he’s entered into the golden years, where quality, fitness, and experience begin to intertwine to great effect.
He’s clearly got his admirers. Chelsea have courted Scott extensively in recent weeks. We’ll see in the days ahead if they’re genuinely willing to test Bournemouth’s hard-nosed stance towards selling him.
Certainly, there’s been no indication that the Cherries are going to be backed into a corner over this. And no suggestion yet – either way – from Scott himself as to whether a move to West London would be appealing to him.

I don’t for one minute believe that Chelsea are the only club monitoring Scott’s performances.
And if there is no movement during this window – as Bournemouth are adamant there won’t be – just wait for the queues in January.
