Brendan Sorsby was widely expected to enter the 2026 supplemental draft after he parted ways with the Texas Tech Red Raiders a few days ago.

After getting banned by the NCAA over his gambling addiction, Sorsby did get an injunction to play in the 2026 season; however, the ruling received a lot of flak.

Now that the NFL has announced that the supplemental draft will not be taking place this year, it means that Sorsby will have to wait for the 2027 NFL draft for a team to pick him.

While some people expressed their disappointment for Sorsby, Colin Cowherd said that the Texas Tech star has no one else to blame except himself.

“Probably best to just take an L and get his act together. So if you’re Brendan Sorsby, I would take an L. This is all your fault. I feel bad for you. I can have sympathy for you with the addiction. I have had it in my family. But, you know, if you can’t modify your gambling usage, that’s on you. Totally. Because most people can. Overwhelmingly statistically, over 90% of people can. So Brendan Sorsby’s attorney, Jeffrey Kessler, says it’s a violation of the CBA and the law. We will pursue this with the NFLPA immediately. So that’s pretty predictable.” Cowherd said.
