Official: Stefano Cusin is no longer the coach of the Comoros national team
In an official statement released on February 1, the Comoros Football Federation announced the end of its collaboration with national team coach Stefano Cusin.

The decision will take effect from March 1, 2026, as the federation has chosen not to renew the contract of Stefano Cusin, whose contract expires at the end of February, as head coach of the Coelacanths. Cusin took over the role in October 2023, succeeding Younes Zerdouk, and the 57-year-old Italian coach spent more than two years on the Comorian national team’s bench.
The Comorian federation praised his “work and discipline,” especially “the impressive run in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup“.
The statement also noted that discussions are ongoing with several coaches to ensure a smooth succession, and the new head coach will be announced very soon.
