The Green Bay Packers are hiring Cleveland Browns scout and Wisconsin native Dan Zegers, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson.

Zegers’ official job title with the Packers under general manager Brian Gutekunst is currently unclear.

Zegers, a graduate of De Pere High School and St. Norbert College, has been with the Browns front office since 2018 and the team’s area scout for the Midwest region since 2020. He previously was a college scouting coordinator (2017-18) and player personnel assistant (2013-17) for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Zegers has worked under Browns general manager Andrew Berry in Cleveland since 2020. He got his start in the NFL in Green Bay as an equipment assistant in 2004, and he was promoted by Ted Thompson and the Packers to scouting assistant in 2007.

Zegers left Green Bay in 2013 to be a player personnel assistant under John Dorsey, who was hired as the Chiefs general manager that same year. He spent five years in the role before being promoted to college scouting coordinator. Zegers left Kansas City for Cleveland in 2018 and was a personnel coordinator for the Browns from 2018-2020 before a promotion to area scout.

The Packers list Joe Hueber as the team’s area scout for the Midwest region. Hueber is going into his ninth season as a college scout in the Packers front office.
