Celebrity Big Brother Twitter goes wild for ‘drunk’ Kirstie Alley
The latest season of Celebrity Big Brother launched to much fanfare on Thursday night, with the usual motley crew of fading and minor stars ascending the iconic stairs to the equally famous — if not more so — Elstree house.
But viewers of the Channel 5 show were left scratching their heads, cringing and expressing their outright outrage as they watched one celebrity after another make a glittery entrance, as they collectively dubbed it one of the weirdest launches ever.
Amid a stream of comments on Twitter, fans accused Kirstie Alley — arguably the most famous contestant this year — of being drunk, while they were left baffled by porn star Stormy Daniels’ no-show, as reports emerged alleging she quit just moments before she was expected to make her debut.
Hollywood actress Kirstie received a raucous reception when she entered the CBB house, but her behaviour was deemed erratic by viewers, a number of whom went as far as accusing the former Cheers star of being drunk.
After the actress asked if she was going to be assassinated upon being appointed secret President of the house, a fan tweeted: ‘Kirstie is already so drunk… #CBB.’
‘Kirstie Alley on #CBB, how the mighty have fallen,’ wrote another on the micro-blogging site as she was first to settle into her temporary digs.
Also failing to escape the observations of viewers was the fact that Stormy failed to show up, despite the new season being touted under the banner of a ‘brewing storm’ and the CBB house being fashioned after Washington, DC’s White House.
‘Anyways I thought Stormy Daniels was going into #CBB? What happened to that? I want the Trump tea, sis,’ tweeted one viewer.
Observed another: ‘Something tells me the whole “White House” twist theme was meant to be for Stormy Daniels? Did she drop out?’
And one exasperated watcher stated: ‘I sat through CBB for like two hours and Stormy Daniels wasn’t even there… fully triggered.’
It was also noted that the Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister Samantha Markle had long been rumoured to be a part of the show, although this also failed to materialise.
Honestly thought we would see Samantha Markle or Stormy Daniels go in the house tonight but hopefully they’ll be late arrivals,’ a viewer optimistically tweeted. ‘That’s two names I really wanna see in there.’
Then there was the ‘awkward’ business of former TOWIE hunk Dan Osborne making viewers ‘cringe’ as he greeted rumoured fling Gabby Allen in the house.
While Dan, who recently reunited with his actress wife Jacqueline Jossa, and Gabby have vehemently denied accusations of an affair, fans watched with bated breath as the pair came face-to-face in front of cameras in a deliciously uncomfortable display.
Viewers were shocked by the exchange between Gabby and Dan, as they penned: ‘The cringe exchange between Dan and Gabby ew ew #CBB’; ‘i am LIVVVVING for the potential Gabby & Dan storyline on #cbb’; ‘Dan looked awkward when he saw Gabby lol…’
‘So awkward that they’ve put Gabby and Dan in the house together #CBB’; ‘well dan looked happy to see gabby #cbb #cbbuk’; ‘that’s a bit awkward tbh gabby and dan.’
Awkward dan and gabby #CBB’; ‘Seemed a bit of a frosty hug on her behalf with Gabby and Dan.. #CBB’; ‘Who thought it was a good idea to put Dan Osborne and Gabby Allen in the same house together?! Can smell the awkwardness already #CBBUK’
‘Surprised they didn’t mention the fact he was accused to cheating with Gabby Allen.. Considering she’s joining him in the house… #cbb’; ‘My heart is hurting already for Jacqueline Jossa having to even see Dan & Gabby in the same house together. Whether anything happened or not it’s still not a nice feeling #CBB’.
However, most strange of all for the show launch was the fact that Stormy Daniels, whose anticipated presence on the show was touted with much fanfare following claims of an affair of US President Donald Trump, was a mysterious no-show.
Fans were left baffled at the 39-year-old’s absence on Thursday night’s show following widespread reports she was set to be an explosive addition, yet The Sun now report it was a pay row with producers that saw her quit.
nsiders told the publication she fell out with bosses on the show after she demanded a whopping £100,000 extra on top of her record £750,00 pay cheque, which she was reportedly set to receive after one week in the house.
‘They tried everything to persuade her to stay and no one could work out why she’d fly all the way from the US to London before deciding to drop out. Let alone turning down that massive fee.’
A representative for Celebrity Big Brother declined to comment when approached by MailOnline. Stormy’s representatives have also been contacted.
Following Stormy’s absence, insiders told the publication: ‘Stormy landed in London and was taken to the Village hotel in Elstree where the celebs are put up.
